On the art trip last week I visited the Tate Modern gallery - here are some of my photographs of the interior of the building. In most galleries I am more interested in the architecture and interior decor because it is always so innovative, whether it is somewhere modern like this gallery or the detail of the sculptured ceilings in the National Gallery. The black and white edits show the great use of light throughout the building and how the illuminated areas of the building are created through an original design.

Black & Grey
On Friday I went to London on an art trip, where we visited the Tate Modern and wandered along Embankment. After leaving home in the rain it brightened up as we got to London, thank goodness! So was a good opportunity to get some useful photography.
As usual, I wore nearly head to toe in Zara but added this 'coatigan' that I got from a charity shop a while back. It's 80's bomber style is in at the moment in all the high street shops, so I thought I'd bring it out, despite it being the itchiest knit ever..

Boyish
So after my 'masculine' pinterest session a few weeks ago, I have decided that boy is the way forward! I recently bought this oversized shirt and culottes, which were a perfect match for this style. Along with my beloved Zara blucher shoes (which Armarni have just brought out a pair almost identical - winner.) I wore this at the weekend when I was down in London for an open day at London College of Fashion, but all my visits are over with and now I have to make the decisions. Also while I was down I got to visit the National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery and the V&A - where I went to the Horst exhibition, which was amazing showcasing so much of his beautiful work, along with over 90 covers of Vogue that he shot from 1930 onwards!

Exploring Lampshades
For my current art project I have been researching and experimenting with different structures within fashion. However, inspiration for these pieces of experimentation come from anywhere and anything that we observe. After firstly photographing my own lampshade (the first few pictures), I came across a beautiful collection of lampshades in the V&A cafe at the weekend when visiting London. Each show the variety of structures created through different techniques and materials, and the delicacy of this in different ways. And within this, the contrast of a thick plastic material folded into each other and very thin individual wire pieces entwined together.
