On the art trip last week I visited the Tate Modern gallery - here are some of my photographs of the interior of the building. In most galleries I am more interested in the architecture and interior decor because it is always so innovative, whether it is somewhere modern like this gallery or the detail of the sculptured ceilings in the National Gallery. The black and white edits show the great use of light throughout the building and how the illuminated areas of the building are created through an original design.

Black & Grey
On Friday I went to London on an art trip, where we visited the Tate Modern and wandered along Embankment. After leaving home in the rain it brightened up as we got to London, thank goodness! So was a good opportunity to get some useful photography.
As usual, I wore nearly head to toe in Zara but added this 'coatigan' that I got from a charity shop a while back. It's 80's bomber style is in at the moment in all the high street shops, so I thought I'd bring it out, despite it being the itchiest knit ever..

Boyish
So after my 'masculine' pinterest session a few weeks ago, I have decided that boy is the way forward! I recently bought this oversized shirt and culottes, which were a perfect match for this style. Along with my beloved Zara blucher shoes (which Armarni have just brought out a pair almost identical - winner.) I wore this at the weekend when I was down in London for an open day at London College of Fashion, but all my visits are over with and now I have to make the decisions. Also while I was down I got to visit the National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery and the V&A - where I went to the Horst exhibition, which was amazing showcasing so much of his beautiful work, along with over 90 covers of Vogue that he shot from 1930 onwards!

Exploring Lampshades
For my current art project I have been researching and experimenting with different structures within fashion. However, inspiration for these pieces of experimentation come from anywhere and anything that we observe. After firstly photographing my own lampshade (the first few pictures), I came across a beautiful collection of lampshades in the V&A cafe at the weekend when visiting London. Each show the variety of structures created through different techniques and materials, and the delicacy of this in different ways. And within this, the contrast of a thick plastic material folded into each other and very thin individual wire pieces entwined together.

Northumbria
Yesterday I went to the Northumbria uni open day and it was so good! The course, facilities and Newcastle as a city were all really inspiring, so it was another successful open day. The last picture is of the Arts and Design building - all of the architecture in this part of the campus was really innovative.
I went all out head to toe in Zara, embarrassingly, but wanted to channel my masculine inspiration (previous post) that I have been obsessing over on Pinterest.
Inspiration: Masculine
Womenswear often has elements of masculinity and particularly with a lot of minimal styles and tailoring that are evident at the moment, my style is inspired by this. Different cuts and tailoring can be expressed in a casual or formal look, whether it is dressed down with a pair of trainers or dressed up with a pair of pointy loafers and jewellery to give the look the sophistication needed to maintain a woman's femininity.

On Wednesday I went to UCA in Rochester for an open day, the Fashion Promotion course was so good and the facilities at the university were amazing, its top of my list at the moment so all very exciting! I got this coat before Summer in a charity shop in Brighton when I was down there, but obviously haven't had a chance to wear it yet because of the weather and even when I put it on this week it was too warm in the end so I ended up taking it off.. But hopefully it will be freezing soon so I can wrap up warm in all my layers. Also so glad I forced myself to wear my new shoes, they gave me a tonne of blisters and don't fit perfectly but I love them so I'm glad I've finally worn them!

Autumns arrived (feat. my dogs)
Jam packed Saturday this weekend but so good! I went to Birmingham City uni for an open day which was a really nice uni, although it was freezing and raining.. But I'm glad Autumn is finally here as I got to wear my new knits that I got for my birthday (both from Zara) and my lovely long booties. Underneath I wore my white jumpsuit (previous post) for extra warmth and purely because I don't own a nice pair of white trousers that fit well - although these were a bit baggy because of the boots. After the open day my friends and I went to Nottingham for a night out for one of their birthdays which was such a good night, definitely recommend it there!!
P.S. My face looked gross in all these pics hence the cropping

For my friend's art project she's using a collection of fashion photography/street style inspiration and asked me to style and model the clothes, all of which are my own. I chose a combination of styles: a casual and comfy look with the jumpsuit, a preppy/studious look and a more classy look with the oversized jumper and culottes.
