Northumbria

Yesterday I went to the Northumbria uni open day and it was so good! The course, facilities and Newcastle as a city were all really inspiring, so it was another successful open day. The last picture is of the Arts and Design building - all of the architecture in this part of the campus was really innovative.
I went all out head to toe in Zara, embarrassingly, but wanted to channel my masculine inspiration (previous post) that I have been obsessing over on Pinterest.

Inspiration: Masculine

Womenswear often has elements of masculinity and particularly with a lot of minimal styles and tailoring that are evident at the moment, my style is inspired by this. Different cuts and tailoring can be expressed in a casual or formal look, whether it is dressed down with a pair of trainers or dressed up with a pair of pointy loafers and jewellery to give the look the sophistication needed to maintain a woman's femininity.

On Wednesday I went to UCA in Rochester for an open day, the Fashion Promotion course was so good and the facilities at the university were amazing, its top of my list at the moment so all very exciting! I got this coat before Summer in a charity shop in Brighton when I was down there, but obviously haven't had a chance to wear it yet because of the weather and even when I put it on this week it was too warm in the end so I ended up taking it off.. But hopefully it will be freezing soon so I can wrap up warm in all my layers. Also so glad I forced myself to wear my new shoes, they gave me a tonne of blisters and don't fit perfectly but I love them so I'm glad I've finally worn them!

Autumns arrived (feat. my dogs)

Jam packed Saturday this weekend but so good! I went to Birmingham City uni for an open day which was a really nice uni, although it was freezing and raining.. But I'm glad Autumn is finally here as I got to wear my new knits that I got for my birthday (both from Zara) and my lovely long booties. Underneath I wore my white jumpsuit (previous post) for extra warmth and purely because I don't own a nice pair of white trousers that fit well - although these were a bit baggy because of the boots. After the open day my friends and I went to Nottingham for a night out for one of their birthdays which was such a good night, definitely recommend it there!!

P.S. My face looked gross in all these pics hence the cropping

For my friend's art project she's using a collection of fashion photography/street style inspiration and asked me to style and model the clothes, all of which are my own. I chose a combination of styles: a casual and comfy look with the jumpsuit, a preppy/studious look and a more classy look with the oversized jumper and culottes.

This is what I wore out to my second birthday meal (completely contrasting my clean white jumpsuit). The dress is a new buy - a pre-birthday present to myself... And the shoes were one of my lovely presents from a friend, I found a really similar pair on the Topshop website that I wanted but they were £60/70 so even though I don't often shop at New Look, their shoe department needs to be investigated before buying anywhere else for cheaper versions! Accessories were a bit of a struggle with this outfit, I didn't feel the need for much jewellery as any large earrings would have been too much with the hat and I like the focus on the V-neckline so didn't want to over complicate it with a necklace. And with a large hat I was unsure with a large clutch, but wanted something smarter than a shoulder bag, I decided to use my nan's old clutch from the 80's but wasn't 100% sure on the mix of the patent and the soft/matte black of the dress.
